About The Owner
George Beck acquired Small Business Services in August 2003. His extensive financial services background includes over 35 years of increasingly complex roles in corporate America, culminating with his role as Corporate Treasurer for a $1.6 billion per year international steel producer where he was responsible for all SEC filings, investor relations, pension fund management, debt and equity placement (IPO and public bond offerings), mergers and acquisitions, developing financial training and management reporting.
Prior to his seven-year tenure at Gerdau Ameristeel (NYSE – GNA), he served as Corporate Controller for the largest steamship agency in the Americas, Inchcape Shipping Services; Accounting and Audit Manager for Hertz Penske on the west coast; and as staff Accountant and Financial Analyst previous to that.
George earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from San Diego State University in 1982. His broad corporate background includes international accounting, multi-state payroll and tax, numerous accounting system design and implementations, staff management, budgeting and just about everything else related to corporate finance and accounting!
